This photo was among those belonging to Laurie Baker. It's a Kodak photo postcard from Vice Regal Studios at Grafton, NSW. Apparently Kodak postcards didn't appear in Australia until about 1907. Laurie's youngest sister Joyce was born in 1909 which would match the age of the photo but I can't see any resemblance to Joyce in her later photos. None of the other siblings' dates of birth fit with the postcard style photo. The photo could be of a relative or friend but has been tagged "Baker family" for the moment. More research is needed.
Grafton, New South Wales, Australia
On the back of the photo are the words "Mum's Grandmother Grannie Vine". We don't have any ancestors named Vine but Jane Ireland, the sister of our ancestor Mary Ann Ireland, married Alfred Loutet Vine.
One researcher has identified the photo as
"Grannie Vine is Anne Vine nee Loutet, the wife of Alfred, Surveyor."
The photos were probably taken in the 1880s or 1890s.
Thomas Somerville Baker (1857-1933) and Maud Mary Baker (nee Perry) (1865-1950)
The first photo would have been taken at or around Grafton, New South Wales.
The second photo would have been taken at either Grafton or Newcastle, New South Wales.
Both photos were probably taken in the 1920s or early 1930s.
