It might seem strange to include one of Dad's old computers among historical photos but the photo is quite interesting for two reasons.
The photo was taken in 1990 and is an Amstrad computer. When looking closely at the screen it shows that the disk heads are parked. There was then an old DOS command "park" to protect the disk surface when the computer was not in use. From memory the Amstrad's CMOS battery was on the outside of the computer and was just a AAA or AA battery. It also looks like an external 5 and a quarter inch floppy disk drive on the right.
